Nancy Gassner Clayton

Whether working in the recording studio creating crazy characters on a commercial voice over, singing on the latest Star Wars soundtrack, playing the evil stepmother in a Sondheim play,  or an emotional Mom in a feature film, Nancy's career strength is her versatility. 

Graduating as a vocal major from Ithaca College with a Degree in Music Education, she has worked the stages in NYC and across the country in hundreds of plays, musicals, and operas, including 5 years with the LA OPERA COMPANY.

Recent film roles include playing a wacky mother in the festival award winning HOW TO HACK BIRTH CONTROL,  mom to the leading lady in SAG feature, A HOLIDAY BOYFRIEND, Jewish Mother  Mrs. Zimmerman in the Feature Film SHARP,  and recent KNIGHTS OF SWING, all available on major platforms.  Other favorite film credits include GANGSTER SQUAD, ANGELS & DEMONS, and ENEMY OF THE STATE.

Movie Fans can hear her vocals on film soundtracks including ROGUE ONE:STAR WARS, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, JURASSIC WORLD, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, TOMORROWLAND, THE 3 STOOGES,
JOHN CARTER, TINKER BELL, EVAN ALMIGHTY, CHICKEN LITTLE,  as a soloist on BATMAN FOREVER and many others. As a recording artist she has worked with  BARBRA STREISAND, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, JACK BLACK, & JOSH GROBAN, and on the stage at the Grammy Awards with Ms Aguilera.

Television credits include: 2 BROKE GIRLS, NICKY RICKY DICKY AND DAWN, SONNY WITH A CHANCE,  THE TRACY ULLMAN SHOW, GENERAL HOSPITAL, CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL, DANGEROUS WOMEN, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, SANTA BARBARA, and  on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES as Doug Savant's secretary Phyllis.

Stage creds include: the star-studded SWEENEY TODD at the AHMANSON Theater with Neil Patrick Harris, Christine Baranski, and Kelsey Grammar, DANNY ELFMAN's MUSIC/TIM BURTON'S FILMS at the NOKIA, Mary Magdalene at the Crystal Cathedral, Wendy Wasserstein's ISN'T IT ROMANTIC, BROADS at the EL PORTAL, OKLAHOMA! with JEAN STAPLETON, the stepmother in INTO THE WOODS with Tony Geary, THE MIKADO with Dudley Moore, WIZARD OF OZ with CATHY RIGBY, and a new rock opera PSYCHE at the Celebration Theater.

Nancy performed with the Roger Wagner Chorale locally and on 5 tours in Japan as their featured soloist.
